The Slice
The slice is a golf shot in which your ball follows an overly curved path from the inside of the target and ends up on the outside (from left to right).
This effect can be played intentionally by professional golfer. But for you, as a sunday player, the slice is the result of a missed shot ;).
In order to avoid the slice, be careful that your club face is not too open and also that your grip and your posture are correct.

The Hook
In opposition to the slice, the hook, is a shot during which your ball begins its flight from the right of the target and finishes by making a turn to the left.
The Hook is very often and means that your club face that is too closed at the moment of hitting the ball.

The Top
The top is a shot with the lower part of your club head and on the upper part of the ball (as you can see on the picture above). After the shot, your ball have a very low trajectory and so during a short time until bouncing on the ground.
One of the main causes is your bad swing. Therefore, train your swing as much as you can and the top will never be in your dictionary ;).

The Push
The Push is when your ball has a direct trajectory on the LEFT of your target. This can be caused either by placing your ball too far back in the stance, or by swinging with and inside-to-outside trajectory.
The consequence of these faults is similar to the slice because your ball ends up too far to the right of your target.

The Pull
Unlike the Push, the Pull is when your ball has a direct trajectory but on the RIGHT of your target.
This effect is usually seen when your club face is perpendicular to your body at the time of impact. Otherwise, it can be your hands and arms that are too far apart at the time of the downswing.

The “Candle’s stroke”
The Candle’s stroke is when you are hitting the ball with the top edge of the club and leading to a rising ball. You might think it is a good shot because your ball is going straight. However, your ball is flying into the clouds and doesn’t actually move forward.
For example, instead of making a 100-meters shot, you will make a 50-meters shot.
